Candy Bellaire (Brown)
Retired/Payroll Clerk Married 1
I married Ernie Moore, SL 67 graduate, in June 69, but unfortunately he was killed in Cambodia in May 70.  In 2006, I attended a military reunion honoring the KIA men of the 101st Abn, 3/506th meeting many of the men who served with Ernie.  Little did I know I would meet my future husband, Rick Brown who was in the same battle with Ernie the day he died.  We have now been married for 4 years.  We enjoy going to his yearly military reunions & traveling within the US.  I have 3 grandchildren.   Send Candy a MessageSend Candy a Message

retired professor Married 2
I have lived and traveled many places since graduating from Grand Haven High School.
After 40+ years my spouse, Jimmy Jack McBee Roberts, a professor ancient Near Eastern Languages and Culture, and I decided to return to Michigan and retire in Grand Haven.

I am an ordained minister in the Reformed Church in America. I preached and ministered in churches in New Jersey and New York, specifically the Feasterville Reformed Church, Philadelphia. During that time I earned my PhD at Princeton. The bulk of my career has been academic. I've taught Old Testament and ancient Near Eastern studies at New Brunswick University, Hebrew at Princeton, and Old Testament studies at Austin Seminary. I've lectured throughout the Soutwest, Oklahoma, on the Sovereignty of God, chaos and order in the universe, and authority, throughout the Southwest, Oklahoma, Arizona, Texas. I've taken students on study tours throughout cathedrals, museums, and historical sights in Europe.

Since returning to Michigan I taught a college level community Bible study for 5 years. I've volunteered with Hospice, the Tri-Cities Museum, perfomed weddings and funerals, was an adjunct professor at Hope, and Western Seminary. I have a 3/4 acre garden with pear, peach, and various apple trees, strawberries, and raspberries, and milkweed plants. I cultivate Mason Blue Bees. Being here puts me near my best friend, my sister, Barb. I have two granddaughters in KY that I don't see nearly enough.

I'm particularly proud to have been trained and become a journey[person] linotype operator and member of the International Typographical Union, Ypsilanti Local #154. My union affiliation means a great deal to me.

50 years!  Oh my, how it has flown by!  Career wise, worked as a programmer/analyst for Sealed Power for about 5 years.  Moved to Aspen , Colorado and was a ski bum for a year or two.  Then moved to Denver and started an airline career, first with Aspen Airways, then Western Airlines, then Delta Airlines - lived in San Francisco, Salt Lake city, Texas, then back to Michigan while flying out of JFK and CVG (Cincinnati).  Flew International for last 6 years of my career, mostly to Europe.  I married my wonderful husband, Loren, in 1995.  We both retired from the airlines in 2005-6.  In 2013 we moved to Sonoma County, California.  Most people can't wait to retire and start traveling.  We traveled our entire career, so now we love staying home and enjoying where we live ~ wine country USA.  We have 2 grandchildren who live just a half hour from us.   Send Bett a MessageSend Bett a Message

I spend a lot of time with my grandchildren, Abbie and Wyatt, and have rediscovered my inner child. If I have a few minutes I like to read or watch football or work in the yard. Marie Buitenwert (Charnley)
Retired H.S. Librarian Married 1
After H.S. I attended Davenport College in GR for one year and  transferred to CMU.  I majored in Business Education with plans to be a H.S. Business teacher.  I married and my husband and I went with the US Army to Germany for a 3 year stay.  We came back to CMU and I picked up an MS in Library Science.  While my husband was a professor at MSU I was the H.S. Librarian for Leslie Public School (located between Lansing and Jackson) for 29 year until I retired.  Since retirement I have been buying and selling books on Amazon and the internet.

We have one daughter and she is a 1st grade teacher in Haslett, just east of Lansing.  We will be having a grandchild early next year.

We like it here in the center of the state as it's convenient to most everything but the Great Lakes.  But we do have a cottage "up north" so that gets us on the water.  I do miss Grand Haven and look forward to visiting during the reunion.

Retired Teacher/Coach Married 2
I retired from a 38 year career as a Social Studies teacher at Traverse City Central High School.  I was the Trojan boys varsity basketball coach for 22 of those years. Now my wife Mary and I take our jobs of spoiling our two grandchildren very seriously.  We also enjoy living on beautiful Cedar Lake in Leelanau County.  This summer I successfully completed my goal of kayaking the 100 miles of Leelanau’s Great Lakes shoreline, its inland lakes and rivers and I am writing a book about those paddling adventures. I am looking forward to catching up with my 1968 classmates! Send Jon a MessageSend Jon a Message
Janet Cummins
Educator Single
After graduating from GVSU, I taught adults at Orchard View for 3 years then felt like God called me to the Twin Cities. I got all my reading licensures and taught reading or worked with teachers teaching them to teach reading better for the next 33 years.  Over the years I got my Geek on by being Captain of the St. Paul area Star Trek fan club.  I raised 2 of my cousin's sons, hosted over 22 students from China, took in teenage gangster girls trying to leave the gang lifestyle, and often gave a home to homeless teens.  My colleagues called me "Mother to the children of the world." I have not married - yet.  I would love to move back to the Grand Haven area. I hold with great esteem the friendships I made at GHHS. Send Janet a MessageSend Janet a Message
